flower pressings from the gardens at heale
Frances Rasch lives and works at Heale. Trained in horticulture at the Chelsea Physic Garden, she brings both formal knowledge and a deeply intuitive understanding of plants to her practice.
A plantswoman first, her work is shaped by the rhythms of the garden - its brief moments, its seasons, and the individual character of each plant as it comes into being.
Using flowers gathered at Heale, she creates intricate botanical pressings. Each one is carefully taken apart and reconstructed by hand, preserving not only the form but the feeling of the original.
The result is both precise and poetic - a quiet act of preservation that holds something of the garden itself.
